I have some really good news and some bad news for you. First the bad news is that I will most likely not be updating this blog anymore, the good news is progress has been made on a new Doctor Who blog, which I will co own with the Time lord Central owner. The reason for setting up the new blog is that me and the Time lord Central owner are finding it difficult to compete with blogs that update more than 3 posts a day, so we both decided working together would give us the chance to provide a better surface for you. I will have more news for you on this project once it becomes available.

In 'The Waters Of Mars Trailer' there is a hidden clip of a women holding a baby. Since this clip was found, there has been lots of ideas to who the women in the clip is. The woman is most likely Rose and the baby is the meta crisis Doctor's. The women seems to have Blonde hair like Rose, but it could be the lighting that effects the hair colour.Why would Rose appear in 'The Waters Of Mars' and how?

I personally don't think it is Rose. I think it is Lucy Saxon's baby, because this would give the Master a way of returning. Some how the baby and the Master's ring from the end of series 3 work together to bring back the Master. We know Lucy Saxon and The Master are both returning, but how would the Master return from the dead? Could this be how he does it?

Its a cold winters night. Your fast a sleep, dreaming of the world outside your door, of space and beyond. You are suddenly woken up by a mysterious noise. You creep down your stairs, following, the the noise as it begins to fade.

Knock, knock! You ask yourself; "who is it?" You slowly pull back your door...

"Hello I'm the Doctor. I can take you to places you can only imagine in your dreams. To planets where the most beautiful creatures live, I can show you the smallest to the biggest planets and i can travel in time. Will you travel with me?"

"Erm, I ...................."

What would your answer be? I know the doctor doesn't turn up at any random door and ask the occupant weather they will travel with him, but imagine if he turned up at your door and asked you. Would you be scared or excited? Could you leave your family to travel with a stranger you have only just met and hardly know?

Is this Harriot Jones?

There are quite a few people who think that Harriot Jones, former Prime Minister of England, makes a brief appearance in 'The End Of Time' Trailer. I have to say the woman in it looks very similar. Hopefully a better quality trailer will be released so that we can know for sure whether it is or isn't her. If you remember the last time we saw her was in 'The Stolen Earth' where she sacrificed her life by giving her location up to the Daleks. The last we see of her is the Daleks screaming 'exterminate' at her. Do you think its is Harriot Jones or not?

> During the day clips were shown from 'Planet of the Dead' and the upcoming Christmas special, which will feature Tennant's final days as the Doctor. The clip began with the voice over, 'Bad Dreams'. There were shots of Donna, Wilf and a man in a black cape, which turned out to be the master. Another voice over said, ' He Returns' followed by, 'The End Of Time', Christmas 2009. Could the end of time be the name of Tennant's final episode?

> When the possibilty of a Doctor Who moive was brought up, Julie Gardner said, "there is not going to be any announcement about a Who movie."But what it's made us think is that it might be a good idea to do it at some point." She then asked the audience wether it was something they wanted which was followed by huge cheers.

> DT was asked wether he would ever return as the other Doctor and said, "There are no plans, but anything can happen!" He also said "Well, nothing's planned, no one knows what might happen. A Blast From The Past

Series 5 will not hit our screens until 2010, but we already have a few ideas of who may return. Who will we see return in series 5? Using what the newspapers have said and what seems likely, plus filming pictures; I have complied a least below of who I think will return for series 5.

River Song- Confirmed- We have seen filming picture of the mysterious River Song, who in series 5 we may finally find out really who she is and what she means to the Doctor. It seems likely she will appear in the 'Crash Of Byzantium', which was mentioned in series 4 and a filming picture shows a sheet with 'Byzantium' on it.

The Daleks- Unconfirmed- It was reported last month that this iconic Doctor Who Monster would be one of the first monsters that Matt Smith's 11th Doctor would face. According to the Star they brought back the Daleks to mark Matt Smith's Take over. Likelihood of a return 4/10- they have been in every series of the new Who.

The Rani- Unconfirmed- Similarly to the Daleks returning the Rani's return may well be something the newspapers have cooked up, but with a name being but to the role there maybe some truth in it. The Rani is a Time lord just like The Master and The Doctor, but she is an evil Scientific genius. Likelihood of a return 7/10- I can see this defiantly happening.

Ice Warriors- Rumoured- The Ice Warriors have been rumoured to appear in 'The Waters Of Mars', but that doesn't look likely to happening. So does it mean there is a higher possibility of seeing a return in series 5. Hopefully, its always good to see a Classic 'Who' monster be given a makeover for the new series. Liklyhood of happening 6/10- The fans want them back

The Doctor's Daughter (Jenny) - Unconfirmed- Last seen in series 4, The Doctor saw his genetic daughter be born and die all in the same day, but he didn't get to see her regenerate from the dead. It seems as though a return of Jenny would be a very likely case since the ending of, 'The Doctor's Daughter' left it wide open for Dad and daughter to be reunited in series 5. Likelihood of happening 8/10- She must return!

Torchwood's Makarem Bags Emmerdale Role

He wasn't in Torchwood for long being killed on the 1st day, but Rik Makarem played a key role as Doctor Rupesh Patanjali. His character worked at St Helens hospital in Cardiff, originally from the Midlands, who found himself in the presence of Jack and Ianto removing an alien object from a patient of his. We later find out He is working for law enforcer, Johnson, who had ordered him to get inside Torchwood. However he was killed by Johnson when the plan was changed, along with Jack.

Now Torchwood is finished Rik Makarem has moved on in his TV career and has bagged a role on ITV's Emmerdale, as Nikil, a young budding entrepreneur who manges a local confectionery factory.

He commented on his character by saying, "Nikhil is a fiercely ambitious and determined individual, but having lived in the shadow of his brother in the past, he has an indomitable spirit and drive to make the factory a success. He's very quick-witted and extremely protective of his younger sister. I'm really looking forward to filming my first scenes later this month."

Will you be watching Makaren in his new role on Emmerdale or will you be sticking to Sifi?

I was just looking for some Doctor Who videos on YouTube and I found this one. It lists a load of reasons why the Classic Doctor Who series was better than the current new one. I have listed some below, but make sure you watch the video and give credit to davros667788 for the ideas and reasons. You can view the original video by clicking here.

There was no time war, which meant we were able to see episodes set on Gallifrey (The Planet of the Timelords) and Skaro.
There was no Torchwood. (Unit was much better than it is now.)
The spin offs were descent such as 'The Autons Trilogy' and 'Shakedown: The return of the Sontarans'.
The Doctor had an anger level for humans.
More violence and deaths on screen.
Not much emotion for companions.
The seasons had quests like, 'The Key to time' season. (This sites name!)
The titles had the face of the Doctor in them.
The next time trailers release too many spoilers.
The Sonic screw driver was better.

Tennant Leads List To Play Bilbo Baggins

David Tennant, who will be leaving as the Doctor at the end of this year, has been tipped to snatch the role of Bilbo Baggins from a long list of actors. The film, 'The Hobbit' is based on Tolkein's book prequel to The Lord of The Rings series. The list Tennant is leading includes the likes of James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe.

Geoff Boucher of the Los Angeles Times said, "I think Tennant would be exceptional in the role."

Bilbo Baggins was portrayed by Sir Ian Holme, but Baggins is much younger in 'The Hobbit' around 50. Currently Tennant is filiming St. Trinian's and will be appearing at the comic con in the US next week.

The Doctor's New Companion Named

It was also reported that the role between Matt Smith's Doctor and Amy, will be similar to that of the tenth Doctor and Rose.

RIP The Casulties of The 456 Incident

Poor Ianto. Tosh and Owen died at the end of series 2, now Ianto's dead. Sad times for Torchwood. I really wish Clem hadn't died, I really liked his character, but it was key for him to die to stop the 456 at the end. Fortunately only 3 kids died rather than 10% of the child population of Earth. Poor Steven being made by Jack to sacrifice his life for the other children.

9 Facts About Lindsay Duncan

Torchwood was amazing! Very sad though especially when Frobisher killed his family and Jack kind of killed his grandson, but putting all that a side it really did touch you. Some of the best TV I have seen for a long time. Miles better in my opinion than POTD.

Anyway lets look forward to November to 'The Waters of Mars'! First Fact file, Lindsay Duncan, who will be playing the Doctor's guest companion Adelaide.

1) Lindsay Vere Duncan, born 7 November 1950 is a Scottish television and stage actress.

2) She has a CBE (Order Of The British Empire) and won the Tony Award for private lives.

3) Her farther served in the army for 21 years and she is currently married to fellow Scottish actor Hilton Mc Rae, who she has one son with.

4) Duncan studied at London's Central School of Speech and Drama, which lead to her first television production in 1980, after performing in a few theatre roles.

5) Through out the 1990's, Lindsay continued to appear in prestigious screen and stage productions.

6) In the 1999 TV version of Oliver Twist, Duncan portrayed Elizebeth Leeford.

7) Her recent work has included, playing Servilia Caepionis in the 2005 HBO-BBC series Rome and she played Elizabeth, in the TV film Longford.

8) In an interview with the BBC, on 29th January 2009, Lindsay Duncan revealed she would be playing Alice's mother in Tim Burton's upcoming film Alice in Wonderland.

9) On 19 February 2009, it was announced by the BBC that Duncan would join the Doctor in the 'Waters of Mars' being cast as Adelaide. (The Doctor 's guest companion for that special.)

Tonight is the night we have all been waiting for. Torchwood Children of Earth opens its doors to begin it's epic 5 day short series. We have followed the show on a journey over the last 3 years, from BBC 3 to BBC 2 and now to BBC 1, whilst also being available on BBC HD at 9.00pm. The show has always been targeted at adults due to some of its content and this time it seems as though it will bring it barriers that bit further up, giving it even more of a grown up feeling.

Bring in a conspiring government, a mysterious alien race and spooky children repeating the phrase 'We are coming', it looks like Torchwood S3 really will be the show stopper it has been hyped up to be! But who are the 456?

June Is Over!

June has come and gone, this months poll has finished and Torchwood Children of Earth begins next week. Lots happening but lets get back to this months poll; the question was 'Which of the following ‘Who’ characters would make the best Prime Minister or President?

An incredible amount of votes came in. It seems the topic brought up a lot of opinions, but there was only one clear winner- Donna Noble, the super temp from Chesick. 127 votes were received and 105 of them were for Donna. A huge lead. But what would make her a super prime minster?

Donna is a funny, loud person, but best of all she has a very kind heart. This side of her character was best shown when she saw the Ood in the cage watching them and seeing the pain they were going through. The closes competition to Donna was the Face Of Boe and The Master.

We have already seen the Master in action as a leader and well he certainly made his mark. His cruel ideas brought the human race back into slavery and he only showed one passion and that was for his self. Some people even voted for the Daleks. If you voted for the Daleks leave a comment to why you did.

Fancy Going To The Timelord Academy?

The Timelord academy was a place where Timelords could go to further their education, in similar way to us going to college or university. Children as young as 8 began their learning process at the Academy. We learned in 'sound of drums' that Timelords spend centuries at the academy; during this time each Timelord looks into the Untempered Schism, which is an opening into time; "a gap in the fabric of reality from which can be seen the whole of the Vortex"The head of the Academy is the Lord Chancellor.

The Academy consists of several chapters:-

Arcalian Chapter
The Arcalian Chapter is the second most important of the chapters. Arcalians, as they were known, wore green and brown robes. It is not known for sure but its is believed this chapter was part of the Arcalian Council for Temporal Research; an organisation which existed on their home planet, Gallifrey.

Cerulean Chapter
This chapter was based on the The Green party. They had very little political power compared to other chapters. Their robes were a subdued light blue.

Dromeian Chapter
This chapter was based on the Social Democrats. The Dromeian robes were a silver-grey colour. Like the Ceruleans, the Dromeians had very little political power.

Patrex Chapter
The Patrexes are an order of artists and aesthetes. They wore heliotrope robes. Unfortunately they lacked any true imagination and so were minor players in Time Lord politics. Part of their duty was to look as far into the future as they could. They were also responsible for the creation of the N-Forms, which were used in the war against the great vampires.

Prydonian Chapter
This was a chapter of devious Timelords. Not surprising to hear the Master and the Doctor were in it. The colours of this chapter was scarlet and orange. Rassilon, co-finder of the Timelords, originally headed the chapter even before the Timelords themselves. This has helped more Timelords from this chapter assume office of the president.

Scendles Chapter
This chapter was of little power and their colours were quite subdued. They bankrupted themselves trying to build their side of Panopticon. Panopticon was the main room of the capital of Gallifrey.

As part of the introduction ceremony, all Timelords say:-I swear to protect the ancient Law of Gallifrey with all my might and brain. I will to the end of my days with justice and with honour temper my actions and my thoughts."

What Is The Highest Rated Doctor Who Episode?

Do you know what was is the highest rated Doctor Who episode? 14.5 Million People watched what could be the best ever Doctor Who Episode- well lets say the most watched Doctor Who Episode.

'While taking in the sights of Paris in 1979, the Doctor and Romana sense that someone is tampering with time. Who is the mysterious Count Scarlioni? Why does he seem to have counterparts scattered through time? And just how many copies of the Mona Lisa did Leonardo da Vinci paint?'

Have you guessed what episode it is? 'City Of death', was and still is the most watched Doctor Who episode. The closest a new series episode has come to 14.5 million viewers is 'Voyage Of The Damned', which manged 13.2 million people. So what made 'City Of Death' so special?

The episode was one of Tom Baker's best- the story was strong with a good plot, including well thought out humour. It is the case of everything coming together seamlessly to make a perfect episode.

10 Facts About Timothy Dalton

It looks like Timothy Dalton will definatly appear in Tennant's finale after last weeks spoiler evidence; but do you know much about him? Below are 10 key facts about Dalton:-

1) Timothy Dalton was born on 21st May, 1946, in Colwyn Bay, Wales.
2) He is best known for playing James Bond in The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill , and is also well known for his Shakespearean film and play roles.
3) Dalton's mother was American but was a decedent of Italian and Irish background, whilst his farther is English.
4) He first became interested in acting after he left Grammar school in 1964 in which he enrolled in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and toured with the national youth theatre.
5) Timothy then went onto quickly pick up parts in TV mainly working for the BBC, manging to secure his first movie role as Philip II of France in The Lion in Winter soon after.
6) In 1971 Dalton took a break from films to concentrate on roles in theatre performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company, around the world.
7) Dalton's first appearance as 007 in The Living Daylights was very successful, and improved on the previous two Bond films with Moore.
8) Unfortunately, his second film, 'Licence to Kill', did not come out as well as its predecessor, performing poorer at the U.S. box office.

I was surprised to see that The Rani and Timothy Delton as The Master had been changed to 'rumored', probably because of all the hype it caused. Wales Online have published an article on Bond star, Dalton, appearing in Tennant's Doctor Who Finale as an intergalactic judge. Clic k Here to view the article. However there is good evidence on IMDB (Internet Movie Database) that Delton is actually the Master as well as Simms being the Master. Series 5- Daleks To Return!

There have been reports of a possible return of the Daleks for series 5. The Daleks will reportedly be one of Matt Smith's first enemy's he will face, once starting his position as the Doctor.

According to the Daily Star the BBC have brought back the Daleks to mark Smiths take over. Since it will mostly likely take fans a while to gel with Smith, bringing back the Daleks is a good choice, since they are the Doctor's most famous and powerful enemy. Is it right to bring the Daleks back so early in Smith's rein?

New TARDIS 'To step back in Time'

All the way back in April, I came up with the name of this site. It was really difficult thinking up a name, which people would remmeber and one that would link some how to Doctor Who. I chose The Key To Time! At the time I didn't relise it linked at all to Doctor Who, but now I do. The Key To Time was in fact a story arc for Doctor Who. Below is some details about the story arc sourced from Wikpedia.

The Key to Time is the umbrella title that links all six serials of Season 16 of Doctor Who. The arc was originally conceived of by producer Graham Williams, who had proposed it as part of his application for the producer's job in 1976.^[1] The name refers to the powerful artifact whose segments the Doctor, Romana and K-9 are searching for during the season.

A figure presenting himself as the White Guardian commissions the Doctor, Romana and K-9 to find all six segments of the Key to Time, a cosmic artifact resembling a perfect cube that maintains the equilibrium of the universe. Too powerful for any single being to possess, it has been split into six different segments and scattered across space and time, disguised by the raw elemental power within them into any shape or size. However, the Guardian claims that the forces balancing the universe are so upset that the segments of the Key must be found and assembled, to stop the universe so that he can restore the balance.

The first segment is disguised as a lump of Jethryk on the planet Ribos. The second is actually the planet Callufrax, but that planet has been shrunk by the space-hopping pirate planet Zanak. The third is the Great Seal of Diplos, having been stolen by a criminal of that planet. The fourth is part of a statue on the planet Tara. The fifth has been consumed by the monster squid Kroll, causing it to grow to gigantic proportions. The final segment is in fact a female humanoid — Princess Astra.

In the final episode, the purported White Guardian attempts to take the Key from the Doctor. However, the Doctor sees through the figure's charade, reveals him as the Black Guardian in disguise, and once again scatters the segments of the Key across time and space.

The Infinite Quest Recap

In 2007 we saw the Doctor's first animated series hit CBBC, The Infinite Quest; A few weeks ago we heard that The Doctor was going to get a second animated series starring Georgia Moffett and David Warner later this year and there are also reports of a second 'special project'...

The new animated series will be called 'Dreamland', and will see Georgia Moffet (The Doctor's Daughter) voice another chracrter called Cassie Rice. The writer for the show is Phil Ford, who is one of few who pen stories for the show.

Jack Is The Face Of Boe?

The Face of Boe is a charactor in Doctor Who, who was portayed on screen as a huge mechanical, human-like head. The Face of Boe first appeared in "The End of the World", communicated telepathically in "New Earth" and spoke for the last time in "G ridlock". The Face was voiced by Struan Rodger.

In New Earth the Doctor is told by The Face's nurse that the Face will reveal his greatest secret to "one like himself", "A wanderer without a home" which refers to the Doctor.

His final appearance sore the Face of Boe using his life force to power the under city of New New York, which was sealed off from the rest of the planet to save the only survivors from the now-extinct virus. With the Doctor's help the Face of Boe uses the last of his power to unlock the under city. The Face of Boe reveals his great secret to the Doctor: "You are not alone." The Doctor tells his companion, Martha Jones, that the Face of Boe must be mistaken, but it is later revealed that there is indeed another Time Lord — the Master has survived the Time War. This then sees the Face die.

In the episode "The End of the World" it is revealed that the Face of Boe was pregnanat with "Baby Boemina", though they must have died of as in "New Earth" it is stated that he is the last f his species.

In "The Last Of The Timelords" it was revealed that The Face of Boe maybe the immortal time traveller Captain Jack Harkness. Jack expresses concern about how he might look if he lives "for a million years", because although he can't die, he is still aging, slowly. He tells Martha & The Doctor that he "used to be a poster boy when he was a kid in the Boeshane Peninsula", as "the first one ever to be signed up for the Time Agency," earning him the name the Face of Boe.

Strangely in the episode "Utopia", Martha mentions the Face of Boe to the Doctor in front of Captain Jack, who seemed to have ignored the statement. In the same episode, the Doctor states that Jack's existence, as he was when he was revived by Rose, had been locked into the fabric of time and space. RTD said its "A Theory" in which Julie Gardener urged him to "stop back-pedalling"

Which Classic Villain or Monster Should Return?

One thing Doctor Who does so well is coming up with a great variety of monsters. Some turn out to be a great sucess like the Daleks and Cybermen, whilst others don't turn out so great. Since RTD took over he has brought back the Daleks, The Master, The Cybermen & The Sontarans. We have also seen the creation of a variety of new monsters like the Ood, The Hath, The Adipose e.g.

In my opinion there are 4 Villians that need briging back for series 5 & beyond; these are:

1) Rani- is a renegade Time Lord, an evil scientific genius whose villainy comes not from the usual variety of lust for power and suchlike, but from a mindset that treats everything (including morality) as secondary to her research; she has been known to enslave entire planets such as Miasimia Goria in order to have a ready supply of experimental subjects and a place to carry out her experiments uninterrupted.

2) Ice Warriors- The race originated on Mars, and first appeared in the 1967 serial The Ice Warriors where they encountered the Second Doctor and his companions Jamie and Victoria. The name Ice Warrior is not the name of their species, but was applied to them by an Earth scientific team in the Martians' first on-screen appearance.

3) Valeyyard- He is described as an aspect of the Doctor from between his twelfth and thirteenth incarnations. In the serial The Trial of a Time Lord, comprising the whole of Season 23 of the series, the Time Lords appoint the Valeyard as prosecutor at the Sixth Doctor's trial, hoping to have him executed - thereby removing the sole witness to their near-destruction of life on Earth.

4) Zygons- They first appeared in the Fourth Doctor serial Terror of the Zygons, where it was revealed that centuries ago, the Zygon homeworld was destroyed in a stellar explosion. A craft escaped and somehow made it to Earth, where it then crashed into Loch Ness. When the Doctor encountered the Zygons, they were led by a warlord named Broton. Broton wished to conquer the world to allow a refugee fleet of Zygons to colonize Earth.

Daleks Or The Master?

The Daleks have always been the Doctors most prominent enemy, appearing in all of the new Doctor Who series; The Master has also been a big enemy of the Doctor's but does the Dalek's featureless bodies mull out the evil of the Master?

As we all know The Master is the most likely enemy of the Doctor's to return for Tennant's finale, but some think John Simm's take on The Master doesn't make him suited to being the Doctors worst enemy.

The daleks on the other hand are an iconic menace of the Doctor, with most kids seeming to prefer the daleks as the Doctor's worest enemy. The Dalek's iconic words 'Exterminate' stick in kids minds in a similar why to that of the cybermen's 'Delete!' The unusual body of the Daleks takes kids out of their comfort zones making them feel more scarred about the Daleks than the Masters ordinary human appearance.

However personally I loved John Simm's take on The Master and the episodes staring him. He gave a new take on the roles and in my mind gave it some strong personality. But biggest question is do you prefer The Daleks or The Master? Please leave a comment in the C-box.

16609 Days Gone By.....

Time goes by so quickly. Its now 334 days since the last episode of series 4, Journey's End, was broad casted in the UK. Since the start of the new Doctor Who series 1531 days have passed and since the 1st episode of the Classic Doctor Who series, An Unearthly Child, 16609 days and 398631 hours have passed.

Series 4 was spread across 4 months from 5th April 2008 to 5th July 2008, but series 1 began earlier on 26 March 2005 to 18 June 2005.

To finish of lets have a look to the future. Torchwood Children Of Earth will air on 20th of July this year, which is 45 days and 1087 hours away. The Waters Of Mars will probably air on 27th November which is 175 days away. Even further away is episode 17, most likely Christmas Day, is 203 days away followed by another week until episode 18- most likely new years day.

Quite a while to wait, all good fun!

Humans VS Timelords- War On Earth!

The Daleks have always been Earth's biggest threat of takeover; Stolen Earth saw the Daleks fly down to Earth and begin a massive war, but were stopped in the end. I received a message a few weeks ago about the working title for episode 17; it was stated that the current working title for the episode was 'War On Earth'. War meaning that two or more things are fighting against each other and Earth being the war ground.

We already know of reports that the Timelords are coming back, but coming back after turning evil. Evil could mean they are more like the Daleks, signifying the chance that they could invade Earth and could be the cause of war. Maybe the evil Timelords want to take over Earth and use it as a new Gallifrey. The Master could be the master mind behind their surprise attack, maybe traveling back in time to bring the Timelords out of the Time War in a similar way to that of Dalek Caans attempt at bringing Davros back in Stolen Earth.

The Daleks will never leave Doctor Who and so a possible way of bringing them back maybe by getting them all out of the Time War. If my idea was true, The Master my have accidentally released the Daleks as well, creating huge problems for series 5 and beyond.

However there always needs to be someone there to save our planet, The Doctor! I think he will some how risk his life for the Human raise even if it means his own raise will die and so regenerates. The problem is The Master wants to get revenge on the Doctor and so tries to hurt the people the Doctor most loves; his companions and friends! He some how gets a car to hit Luke ( Sarah Jane's kind of son.) but the Doctor manages to save him. Donna will die if the Doctor sees her so the Master tries to link them together and he also sends a fire ball to Earth again hurting the Doctor if it harms any humans. Filming has been caught on camera showing Luke nearly getting hit by a car and a scene where a ball of flames hits the world. I wonder if any of my pondering will actually come true- probably not but you can hope.

Surprise, Suprise, Suprise- Doctor Who Forum Is Closing Down!

Surprise, surprise, surprise! Gallifrey one and the Doctor Who forum is closing down. Complete shock. Below is a statement they left on the site about the sudden closer.

It should be noted that this major announcement will NOT affect the Gallifrey One conventions, preparations for the next installment of which, Gallifrey One: Blackjack 21, is full speed ahead for February 2010 in Los Angeles. (Gallifreyone.com will simply redirect to the convention page as of August 1, 2009.)

For many, this will come as an enormous surprise. For some, probably not so much. Two years ago, I shut down the day-to-day operations of the Outpost Gallifrey website, retaining its News Page as a continuing entity administered by news editors, as well as the Forum run by a moderator team. But all good things must come to an end, and several months ago, I began planning the eventual shutdown of the website and forum by taking a first step: the cessation of taking paid patron memberships, in order to run down the cash coffers (which I projected could last around five to six months without any additional input from new or renewing members -- current patrons were simply extended indefinitely as we announced). At the end of July, any remaining funding (expected to be very little, if any) will be donated to a noted charity, save for costs for the one item that *will* (and actually must) continue to function at gallifreyone.com -- the web space for our long-running Doctor Who convention, Gallifrey One, which enters its twenty-first iteration next February.

Since 1996, Outpost Gallifrey has served as a valuable source of news and information in the online world. Since 2001, the Doctor Who Forum has created an enormous sense of community amongst Doctor Who fans, far longer than I (or perhaps anyone) ever anticipated. When the BBC shut its own DW forums down, we underwent massive growth that created the largest focus for online Doctor Who discussion and debate in cyberspace, and I'm very proud of that fact. Of course, the announcement of the new series in 2003 certainly helped that, and its debut has seen our profile rise exponentially. But as they say, it's better to go out on a high, which is exactly what we're doing. Some may wonder if there is a catalyst for this decision, when in fact it's nothing but a simple and straightforward desire to move onto other things... a decision I made several months ago, counselled by many friends and supporters for a long time.

People will wonder out loud: why don't we spin it off, or why don't I pass it along to others? Simply put, Outpost Gallifrey is nothing but a concept, a concept I created, but which now rests in the hands of the fans who utilize it every day. It's a title, and you don't need a title to continue... you already have the community. Like our site and forum, the Internet has grown exponentially. There are other communities to visit on the Internet, obviously, and we encourage you to visit them. But of course, if these communities do not serve your needs (and we expect many won't), we encourage you to take the course that I did 13 years ago: create your own space. This is, in fact, why we're giving notice to the Forum community two months early -- sufficient time for our members to find their own direction, to create new communities, new forums, and perhaps utilize new methods of communication. Through the friendships and community you've created here.

Outpost Gallifrey (and its Forum) have always remained near and dear to my heart. We've been a powerful voice in the online Doctor Who world, collectively, and the powers that be have listened (and continue to be active, if invisible, readers of what has been said). We've helped influence the course of the Doctor Who universe, through fan interaction with Big Finish Productions, BBC Books, independent publishers and even the Doctor Who Production Team. And we've made terrific friends throughout the world, from inside the BBC to inside the homes of tens of thousands of fans in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and elsewhere.

The TARDIS is the key to Doctor Who; without it there wouldn't be a show. If you could use the TARDIS ,where would you go? The Doctor mostly goes wherever the TARDIS takes him and rarely goes anywhere personal apart from in Farthers day when Rose saw her farther.

Doctor Who has brought in so many fans over the years and with it, it has brought fans that want to go that bit further to get that spoiler or piece of news. These fans that go that bit further need rewarding. So I have created a reward system to reward Doctor Who Blog site makers.

The Time Awards works in conjunction with the key to time, to bring a poll system, which allows voters to vote for their favourite site that month. It has only just started this month, but already there is quite a bit of action. What Is The Best Tool On The Planet?

I have a very easy answer to that question, the Sonic Screwdriver. Its best feature is its ability of being able to operate any lock. It can also be used to repair things and can even be used as a weapon. I never new a screw driver would be able to do all those things.

In Doctor Who, the Sonic Screw driver made its first appearance in 'Fury from the Deep'. From that point on it was used as a multi purpose tool.

Who invented the Sonic Screw Driver? The BBC claim to have come up with the idea; however, ownership of the concept was claimed by Pemberton, who later told an interviewer for Doctor Who Magazine, "I'm very cross that the sonic screwdriver — which I invented — has been marketed with no credit to myself. ... It's one thing not to receive any payment, but another not to receive any credit."At the start of the new Doctor Who series, a completely redesigned sonic screwdriver featured, with a glowing blue light and sound affects. The prop used in the new series was notoriously fragile and was prone to breaking at the slightest strain.

The device 'Sonic' has featured in other Doctor Who items like Sarah Jane's 'Sonic' lipstick, Jack's 'Sonic' Blaster and of course there is The Master's 'Laser' Screw Driver.

Who is Karen Gillan?

With the news of Karen Gillian becoming the new who companion for series 5; I asked, who is Karen Gillan?
1) She's a 21 year old Scottish actor.
2) She was born, Karen Sheila Gillan, in 1987 and raised in Inverness, Scotland.
3) Her farther is a care worker and her mother Marie lives in Kinmylies.
4) After attending school at Charleston Academy, aged 16 she decided to pursue her acting career further, studying at Edinburgh's Telford College.
5) A year later she secured a place at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts drama school in London.^{6) Her television carer began with a role in Rebus, which has lead to her being given roles in} The Kevin Bishop Show, Channel 4's Stacked and James Nesbitt's forthcoming film Outcast.
7) While not acting she has took on roles in modeling for London's 2007 Fashion week and for designers like Allegra Hicks.
8) Gillian was seen playing the role of the soothslayer in Doctor Who Fires of Pompeii and it was announced on 29th May that she would play the Doctor' fourth coming companion!

Gillan as New Who Companion!

I planned my holiday to end on Saturday but unfortunately it had to end today. However my face lit up when I logged on my computer to see a new companion had been selected for the new Who series. The person to get the role was 21 year old, Karen Gillan.

She beat the rumoured contenders of Lily Allen, Kelly Brook, Georgia Moffett and Hannah Murray to the role. Gillan has appeared in who before as a soothslayer, in last years 'Fires of Pompeii'. She has also appeared in 'The Kevin Bishop Show', 'Rebus' and 'Stacked'

The Scottish actress said, "I am absolutely over the moon at being chosen to play the Doctor's new companion," said Gillan. "The show is such a massive phenomenon that I can't quite believe I am going to be a part of it. Matt Smith is an incredible actor and it is going to be so much fun to act alongside him – I just can't wait to get started!"

Steven Moffat said, "We saw some amazing actresses for this part, but when Karen came through the door the game was up. Funny, and clever, and gorgeous, and sexy. Or Scottish, which is the quick way of saying it. A generation of little girls will want to be her. And a generation of little boys will want them to be her too."

Hopefully we might gets some filming spoilers when they begin filming for series 10, in July!

All DW Monsters Coming Back For Specials?

Originally in Stolen Earth, Russell T Davies had planned to film a scene with all the monsters from the new series appearing in the Shadow Proclamation. Unfortunately dew to time and cost, the scene was never created.

However is there a chance we could see it in the last specials of this year. I think it is very likely. We have evidence supporting it, in the original plans for Stolen Earth, Margret Slitheen was supposed to say a line in it, but this line was never used, though it was saved for future episodes.

There is also filming pictures which could link to a possible shadow proclamation scene.

And finally we never found out what would have happened to the Doctor after he violated a direct command from the woman who seemed to be the head of the Shadow Proclamation. I'm sure in the specials or the next series the Judoon or the albino people will hunt the doctor down for his punishment.

The Stolen Earth Shadow Proclamation was supposed to consist of many more different species of aliens, including law-abiding Raxacoricofallapatorians, an 8ft Adipose, Vespiforms, Graskes, Krillitane,Hath and Sycorax. Imagine an 8ft Adipose!

Who is David John McDonald?

1) David John McDonald is a well known Scottish actor.

2) He is already a well-known theatre actor.

3) He has achieved wider fame for his role in in Casanova and Einstein and Eddington, and his film role as Barty Crouch, Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

4) He was born David John McDonald on 18 April 1971 in Bathgate, West Lothian and grew up in Ralston, Renfrewshire.

5) His first professional role upon graduating from drama school was in a staging of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui co-starring Ashley Jensen.

6) His name was put forward as a possible candidate for the role of the Ninth Doctor in 2004.

7) He then later became the Tenth Doctor.

It has been claimed by the sun, that Russel T Davies maybe heading to Hollywood to inquire about a possible Doctor Who movie. Its most likly rumours but known the less it could be true.

Lets have a look at Davies career with 10 facts about him.

1) Russell T Davies (Stephen Russel Davies), OBE was born on 27th April 1963

2) He is a critically acclaimed Welsh television producer and writer.

3) He is best known for his critical serials such as Queer as Folk and The Second Coming, and for leading the revival of the Doctor Who series.

4) From Doctor Who he also created the series spin offs, The Sarah Jane Smith Adventures and Torchwood.

5) Davies was born in a suburb of Swansea, Sketty, where he went to Olchfa School.

6) After he joined the BBC team, he decided to take the in-house director's course.

7) Around this time he started adding the 'T' to his name to distinguise himself from the well known radio presenter, Russel Davies.

8) From 1988- 1992, he was a producer for summertime activity show Why Don't You? which strangly showcased different things children could do rather than watch the T.V.

9) At this time he made his first writing jobs for television, scripting the 'The Flashing Blade' and also wtote three episodes for 'Chucklevision'.

10) On 20 May 2008 it was announced that Davie's role as Lead Writer and Executive Producer of Doctor Who would end in 2009, and that he is to be replaced by Steven Moffat.

Apparently Timothy Dalton is set to appear in Doctor Who. Dalton, who is a former James Bond star, will play a villan in one of DT's last specials.

A source has said "the 63 year old has already arrived in the UK and "is shooting scenes over the next few weeks"."

Is it all a load of rumours or is there some truth in this?

The Doctor Of Nightmares

A recent survey of parents has concluded that programmes like 'Doctor Who' are causing children to have nightmares. More than 70% of parents in the survey say they blame their children's nightmares on programmes like 'Ben 10' and 'Power Rangers'.

The parents from the survey say that the broadcasters of these shows are too lenient on what is shown on children television; they claim the shows are to violent and aggressive, which causes some children to watch the television often with their hands over their faces.

In conclusion to this parents believe shows like primeval, Doctor Who and Robin Hood should be shown after the watershed. My opinion is simple- If your kids are getting nightmares from watching these programmes then do not let them watch them. Simple, it sorts the problem out straight away. Matt Smith Payed £500 For Film Role

Matt Smith, who will be staring as the Doctor next year, was payed just £500.00 to appear in together, which only costed a small £40,000 to produce in total.

At the time Matt was a little known actor, who flew across to Germany last November to shoot his part. Amazingly only 3 weeks later Smith signed a 5 year contract as the new Doctor Who. It is said that this contract will be worth about 1 million pounds- a huge difference to his minor £500 for a film only 3 weeks previous. The film he stared in is also up for the cannes prize.

Doctor Who Mini Episode- Staring a New Monster

“Tonight’s the night” is offering viewers the chance take part in a specially written doctor who scene. The scene shot on board the Tardis and will give you a chance to work with the Doctor Who team.

The scene will be shown to the whole nation as part of the last episode of “Tonight’s the night”. The lucky winner will star as an alien.

Star of Tonight's The Night, John Barrowman, says: "This is a fantastic opportunity and I can't wait to see the winner experience performing on the set of Doctor Who."

To take part you had to be over 18 to be invited to submit an application featuring a photograph of you in your home-made alien costume, along with information about your alien, such as where it's from and its characteristics.

Application closed for the competition on Sunday 5th May 2009 at 11.59pm

Not much news recently so I have decided to do a few fact files on some of the main Doctor Who Characters; today I present Donna Noble:-

1) Donna Noble is a secretary from Chiswick, London, who met the Doctor and became his companion for series 4.

2) She first appeared in "Doomsday" at the end of series 2, being creditied as the bride and then appeared in the second Christmas special, "The Runaway Bride" as Donna Noble.

3) Her character then reunited with the Doctor in "Partners In Crime" and became the Doctors only, full-time companion of series four.

4) It was confirmed, in April 2009, that Catherine Tate would reprise her role as Donna Noble for the 2009-2010 final specials.

5) Donna worked for HC Clements in London, a security firm, which unknown to her provided a front for the Torchwood insitute until its collapse in "Doomsday", in which it was then taken over by Alien intellegience.

6) Her parents are Geoff and Sylvia Noble.

7) On the day of her wedding day she was accidently pulled into the Tardis as a result of being dosed with Huon Particles by her Fiance, on the orders of the Empress Of The Racnoss.

8) As a team Donna and The Doctor defeated the Racnoss, but she refused to travel with the Doctor when he asked her.

9) The reason for declining was because she was frighted not only by his adventures, but by the Doctor himself.

10) Her reappearence in "Partners In Crime" saw her searching for the Doctor being dissatisfied with regular life and more interested in the bigger picture, regreting her decision not to travel with the Doctor.

1) Matthew Robert Smith, born 28 October 1982, is an English stage and television actor.

2) Matt Smith became an actor after a football-related back injury.

3) His first performance was part of the youth team, in Murder in the Cathedral.

4) In 2003 he became a professional actor, in Fresh Kills and staring alongside Christian Slater in the stage adaptation of Swimming with Sharks.

5) His first TV roles came in 2006, in in the BBC adaptations of Phillip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North.

6) The following year his first major Tv role came, as Danny in the BBC series Party Animals, and his first West End theatre role came in the same year in Swimming with Sharks.

7) Late in 2008 came Matt Smith's big casting to play the 11th incarnation of the Doctor.

8) At 26 years old, Smith is three years younger than Peter Davison was at the time of his casting as the Doctor in 1981.

9) Since he was only 26, the BBC were cautious of signing him because they were worried he wouldn't play the role adequetly.

10) The casting of Smith has also been controversal with fans; some saying he is to young, whilst others think it will work.

The Best Of The New Doctor Who

I didn’t start watching Doctor who until series 2, however I have watched all of the new series episodes and I have managed to select my favorite episodes. Series 1 was a great start to Doctor Who, with in my opinion The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances being the best episode(s), since it was probably one of the more scary Doctor Who episodes of the series. I thought it was great. Series 2 had some great episodes, but series 3 clinched it for me. Blink and Human Nature/ Family of Blood were fantastic episodes with both really grabbing all my attention, keeping me transfixed on the screen; finally one episode of series 4 shone for me; it had to be Planet of the Ood, since the episode showed a real diverse story and some strong feelings in it. However the big question is, what it your favorite episodes of Doctor who, including the classic series? Please leave a comment below or in the C-Box. Share your thoughts and opinions.

Would you vote Saxon? The name, ‘Mr Saxon’ first appeared in a newspaper headline, in ‘Love & Monsters’ series 2. It then continued through to 2006 in ‘The Runaway Bride’, where it was learnt to be the new story arc word for series 3.

However it was not until near the end of series in which we found out exactly who the mysterious Mr Saxon was. It was explained in ‘the sound of drums’, that Mr Saxon was the new prime minster of England. Who actually was Mr Saxon? Mr Saxon was the Master!

Saxon (The Master) managed to send subliminal messages encoded in the sound of drums to enable British citizens to trust him and so then vote for him. After a year in charge, the Doctor had been aged by the Master; however Martha was able to get the remaining population to physically connect with the Doctor and so helped him to de- age and over power the Master; though the Master was actually stopped by his wife- Lucy Saxon, who shot him. But was killing the Master part of their plan?

Who's Rose Smith

I saw a post earlier to day on Combom and I was pleased to see it. Combom reports recieving an email in which the sender states that Rose Smith and the other Doctor will be returning for 4:18 in scene 163. It seems that the scene will be in a public place and so that could been pictures.

However the big question is- Who is Rose Smith. When the Doctor has acted as a human in the past he has used 'Smith' as his second name and so has the other doctor from journey's end married Rose and used the surname Smith.

The next question is why would they return in ep 18. The Doctors regenrating and so the other Doctor feels this, or worst scenario he dies when the Doctor regenrates; leaving Rose with his child. Tennant did say he cried when reading it.

Currently planning is under way for a new blog, which will be designed to act as an online newspaper for the whole of Earth. The newspaper blog will be a 100% fictional and will be based around the Doctor Whoniverse. The Newspaper will be called, 'This is Earth', following a similar pattern to other newspapers.

The paper will work by giving a summary of DW episodes, but they will be put in a newspaper style. The blog will not be updated as often as this blog, but will be updated after doctor who episodes. The blog will be parteners with this blog and is designed to give you a different way of reading doctor who information.

The Waters Of Mars- What we know

November seems along time away, especially when your a Doctor who fan, waiting for the next episode to screen. As we know the next episode is called the waters of mars, which gives you an idea that the special maybe set on or near Mars and include a theme of water.

RTD has already said the special will not be the 1st part of DT's finale, but it will be closely linked and as we know it will be get a lot darker. In this special the Doctor will be joined by a new companion named Adelaide, who has been described as being the Doctor's most clever and strong minded companion yet.

Filming began on the 23rd February. Later in February, Tennant, Duncan and other actors were seen filming in Victoria Place, Newport. The filming took place on a city street, which was covered in artifical snow. On the same day a Robot with the word "GADGET" on it, and Ood Sigma, from Planet of the Ood, were seen. Could Ood Sigma be giving the Doctor his message- Your song will end soon?
