Digital Spy have reported today that Sylvester McCoy has backed the decision to recruit Matt Smith as David Tennant's successor in Doctor Who.
Sylvester MacCoy played the 7th Doctor from 1987- 1989. He is eager for Smith to "put his own slant on" the role.
"I think that's very important for all Doctors - Chris Eccleston had his wonderful take on it, and David Tennant," McCoy explained.
"I'm looking forward to this new guy, he's got a great face. I don't know him at all but he looks quirky and interesting."
